This 6mm magnesium oxide backer board is suitable for use as a tiling substrate in bathrooms, wet rooms, and shower areas where frequent exposure to moisture can affect traditional materials. Supplied in a 1220 x 1200mm sheet, it is commonly installed on stud walls and floors requiring a water-resistant solution.
The board provides a stable base for tiling, helping to prevent issues such as swelling, rot, or mould that can develop behind tiles on conventional wood or gypsum substrates. It is quick to cut and shape on site using a standard blade and can safely support heavy tile finishes, including large-format or stone tiles. The non-combustible composition also makes it suitable for use in areas where improved fire safety is desired.
