The galvanised scrolled hip iron is designed for use on hipped roofs to stop ridge tiles from moving down the roof slope. This component is typically fixed at the base of hip rafters, creating a secure physical barrier for hip tiles.
On site, the hip iron is installed before tiles and bedding are applied, supporting the correct placement of the ridge tiles throughout the lifespan of the roof. Its scrolled end adds a traditional touch and eliminates sharp edges, making it suitable for both new builds and roofing repairs.
